A couple years ago when I was building a new air compressor and wasn’t exactly sure what the final configuration would be, I got some step-sheaves and a jason industrial accu-link adjustable link v-belt so I could experiment. I see somebody has reviewed this belt here: http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/2417

I was surprised to find that this belt, in addition to being adjustable, worked every bit as well as a regular v-belt on a big, two-cylinder, 5hp air compressor, and I’ve used them in several other applications and carry one as a spare in my car.
