are 5” wye s more spendy than 6” wye s? If I remember right, my 6” metal duct wye s were around the $12 at a local HVAC distributor with 26 gauge. They were about the same at HD but 28 or some 30 gauge.
I did buy ALOT of 26 gauge HVAC ducting for my shop but also some trashed 6” green PVC SWD pipe that easily molds after heat gun treatment.

Yes, they are. I’m thinking they’re not used very often, so not widely made. I hunted all over the place for a 5” wye and ended up spending about $30/ea from a store in Texas when I was setting up mine. I found 5” T’s on the cheap, but that would have killed my CFM.
