Agree 700 seems too high, but 350 is not likely. Craigslist deal stories are like fish stories, the deals of the past get bigger/better as time goes on, or it really did happen once and that sets an unrealistic expectation for the general market. For 600 I think it would be a happy deal. 500 an awesome deal.

100% agree. I would love to live in these places where you can get $50 drill presses, $200 band saws, and $150 jointers and planers all day long.

For me, I look at what’s on CL and compare it to a brand new machine. Then factor in any type of restoration costs (if any) needed to get it up and running.

I’d offer the guy a fair cash price and see what he says.
