I got sucked into buying one of the wobble blades back in the early 80s. It seemed cool, but if you think about it, given the design there is no way to obtain a flat bottom and parallel sides to a dado. If all you re doing is dadoing in shelves or something, they work fine.

Yes. Back when they were sold, I understand the the main criticism was the rounded bottom. However, the Craftsman I have somehow adjusted their design so that the bottom is almost flat. I agree. I would not use this to cut an exposed groove or dado, but for shelf joinery, etc, it worked quite well. Very easy to adjust. I would love to try out one of the modern double wobble versions.

That was the time that all I had was a radial arm saw. Running that thing on the RAS was a scary monster!
