Tim, as someone living near the ‘Ville myself, I can attest to seeing pretty inflated prices on the used tool market around here. Thanks to the maker culture really picking up, it’s become a very supportive community, and a terrible market for used tools! The ones that come up listed at the “average” used market price go fast, while others list at 50% higher than reasonable (or more) and sit on the market for weeks/months.

In contrast, if you aren’t opposed to a little bit of a drive, the more rural areas in KY (Bowling Green, Owensboro, even around Lexington) tend to have better values.
