I’ll open up the belt cover and see what I see.

It has to be something with the lock pin because it feels like I just have the lock pin engaged. But it isn’t. The lock pin seems to be acting like it usually does. I pulled the lock pin out and everything is how it should be.

Maybe the gears around the spindle are locked up. Looking at the parts diagram, the pinion shaft seems to be right in the area where the problem could be.

The spindle just seems to be stuck in the locked position.
