In the winter, I do my finishing work inside my small shop in my basement. Mostly just thinned linseed oil and Waterlox. Of course, I do use a vapor mask, but fumes escaping to the upstairs do generate some complaints from other household members. So, Four years ago I purchased a few 12×24 x 1 activated charcoal filters from Grainger, part# 2JUT6 ($14.59 each). These fit perfectly in my Jet 1,000 cfm air filtration system and they worked quite nicely. No detectable organic vapors escaped my shop. Because they come sealed in plastic shelf life is quite long. I’m on my last filter and it still works okay. Unfortunately, when I went on the Grainger site to reorder, they had been discontinued. I could use the 24×24x2 (might work), but now they only sell these in a 12-pack (~$300). Does anyone know where else I can find these? Amazon sells a jar of activated charcoal, so I could attempt to replace the spent charcoal, but this could end up quite a mess. Any ideas?
