Any comments about the saw? What notable differences are there between the PM2000 and the Ridgid contractor saw? Any insight is appreciated since I am thinking about making a similar purchase, although probably going for the PM1000. My current saw is a Ridgid contractor saw which has served me well.

Thanks.

Comparing a Ridgid contractor saw to a PM2000 is like comparing a Silverado to a Peterbuilt. Twice the power, twice the mass, much more robust underpinnings, much heavier duty, larger hand wheels, smoother operation, longer expected service life, 3” deeper table, much nicer fence, better fit and finish, better switch, better blade guard, just to name a few things….it’s at least two full steps up from the Ridgid, and represents arguably the top of its class.

The PM1000 is a more substantial saw than the Ridgid too, but is a closer comparison.
