I have made an Adirondack chair from a template and need to make one for my wife that is lower by 2 inches. How do I alter the template to do that?

I did the same thing for my wife, Im not sure what pattern you have but I shortened the rear leg by 1 3/4" and the arm rest by the same, that lowered the front of the seat enough for her knees to fit perfectly at the curve of the seat and her feet to touch the ground. She's 5'3"
Looking at the chairs you can't see the difference until you sit in the wrong one

What I did was to make the leg you pictured shorter in it's overall length. That way the distance from the back of the seat to the front of the seat is shorter and it also drops the front of the seat down some.
If you cut 2" off the overall height the proportions will be out of wack, since the overall size of the seat would be the same as a bigger chair
In technical terms, the way I did it, "the butt to knee and knee to foot" ratio both get shorter versus a long butt to knee and really short knee to foot ratio
I made the arms shorter too to match the reduced distance of the leg
That what I did anyway and everyone that's 5'5" and under loves that chair and can't stand the "adult" size chair
