I have a 1999 Unisaw. I am stating that up front, so you folks can write what you want about me being biased.

I think getting that saw for $1,000 is a very good deal and I would not hesitate. That saw and the included accessories will make a fine tool. You can see in the photos that it is in superb condition which means no rust to clean up, and indicates a caring owner for the life of the machine.

I personally cannot even imagine comparing that option to ordering a Grizzly saw and hoping the delivery works out as well as I would hope. If something happened to mine today, and I was in your area, I would be going to that seller and offering at least $1,200 to outbid you, R3.

Further, that air filter system is a very nice addition to any shop. Several brands are available, and they sell for nominally $400. I have one hanging on my shop ceiling, and so do many other wood workers that are sensitive or concerned in any way about dust in the air. And it also creates a very nice flow of air in the shop when I run it, so it helps with temperature control. I am very happy to have mine, so I would tell you to offer him something to get that air filter as well. If I were to do that, I would hang it on the ceiling, and free up that storage space under the saw extension wing.

I do not buy the arguments on either side of the right tilt vs left tilt discussion. You can work with either just fine, and with either there will be times the other would be better. There are many ways to work safely with a TS that lacks a riving knife. If you have one and don’t use those safety methods, you are courting trouble. I’d never be cavalier and drop my concern because i had that device.

I say go get it fast before someone else does. And regardless of how long it has been listed, someone will go buy it.
