It sounds like you ve outgrown your little compressor and need one with a larger air tank. Your safety valve works and is working, you don t need a new one. The issue is that you re trying to push your little pancake compressor further than it s meant to go.

The safety valve releasing has nothing to do with pushing his compressor further than it is meant to go. The OP didn’t even mention what he was using the compressor for. Starting it up for a single shot with a pin nailer would result in the pressure relief opening. Sine Wave seems to have it right, the pressure switch is not shutting the compressor off when it reaches the set point and it keeps running until the pressure relief kicks in.
