Thanks SignWave and Wayne,

I very much appreciate your responses. I am assuming the iron is the same width as the chip breaker. The chip breaker is definitely 2 1/4 inches. Seems weird, I thought most all were 2 3/8. Anyway, I was wrong, it’s a type 13, not a 12. I would prefer to find something from the same generation, but I’m not ready to invest big dollars. Are irons readily available at 2 1/4 inches? Should I just bit the bullet and get a chip breaker with the iron?
