The steel frame is stiffer and better able to tension blades properly. The cast iron frame will flex more. Only advantage to the cast iron frame is the ability to add a riser block – which adds even more flex. Generally, if you want more re-saw capacity, it’s better to get a bigger saw. If you are cool with the cast iron frame saws, then you may want to consider finding a used Delta, which the others are clones of, and can be found for significantly less green.
