I agree with a grizzly product. Bang for the buck, and better quality than any of the big box store saws.
I must say though, IMO. I don t like the G1023RL vs G0771Z
The G1023 has 1 extra HP, and a 1/2” extra in front of the blade, 12” vs 11.5”. Better fence, but only 26” rip vs 31”. The photo on the web site shows a router table wing too.
So, Is that all the fence you will want? Upgrade someday to 52”. will that router wing still be usable if fence is upgraded?
Just things to think about. The G1023 is nice, but $750 extra dollars for 1hp, and a 1/2” in front of the blade.
I thought I saw an fence upgrade option, so maybe just longer rails in the future, but that still brings up the router table being able to extend out to the 52” mark.
Thats if that is even a desire of yours to have the longer rails. No way I would buy a saw and be stuck with a 26” rip capacity. The 3hp, would be nice, and you can tell a difference. But I have a home hobby shop, and the 2hp size works fine for me. Affordability, Once you get near $2000 saw mark, then Powermatic and Saw Stop start becoming real options.

It s not as simple as comparing the motor size. The 1023 is a true cabinet saw with heavy, cabinet-mounted trunnions. The 0771 has lighter table-mounted ones. The 1023 is heavier, more table, more powerful, has a bigger table, has a better fence, et cetera.

The 1023 is <$1500 shipped right now.

Plus tax….. Puts me almost $700 over budget.

I would love to order the 1023 but it is just a bit beyond my reach.
