Any clock movement in those price ranges should be fine. There are also movements in the $6-10 range that are closer to the quality you would find in most clocks today. Buy a high torque movement if you have large heavy hands.

One feature that I really like is a continuous sweep movement. They are completely silent. Many of the other types have really loud ticking noises. My guess is that the design is deliberately magnifying the sound to pretend to be an old fashioned clock, but most are too loud for my taste.
