Tim:

I just bought a 1950’s 40-440 and failed at installing a blade (it had none). I also think I may have dropped/lost a part in trying this. Could I call you or ask you to call me to discuss the parts, or could we e-mail to figure out what I have done?

I loosened the two screws in the square upper blade holder sleeve (one is a thumb screw and the other is a slotted screw) and now there is only one “square part” (flat on oneside and champfered on the other with a threaded hole in the middle) left on the table.

My son was helping me and he tried to install a blade with pins but I believe this machine uses flat blades; is that correct?

Is this something you or others might be able to help on?

Many thanks in advance.
