DerekJ, thanks for the reply.

I am looking at making a bar that has a bar top that is 42” high, 28-30” wide and about 42” long. I am considering a wall mounted case that is 8-10” deep. This will allow 6” shelves and leave 2-4” inches for the bars and legs to fold into.
I have not decided what to do about the legs. The option I am leaning toward is to create a rail and style frame out of 1×2s or 1×4s for the legs. This would serve as a frame to highlight designs that are routed or burned into the bottom of the bar. My concern is that there may be too much flex in 1x material.
I also wonder if I need to install a locking mechanism to prevent the legs from folding up if they are bumped by some klutz.
