Teaching myself to cut dovetails. Man this is hard.

I got the veritas dovetail saw and I must say it cuts beautifully. My chisel work needs work however.

Get you some hardwood scraps. Cabinet or millwork shops usually have more than they can handle and will give stuff away usually. Pine is forgiving when it come to fitting but it is a B without sharp tools. Chisel work in pine can suck. It tends to crush. If you can cut to a line you can do just about any kind of joinery.
