Jonny – Thanks so much for posting this. I actually started my own DJ-15 restoration project a few weeks ago. You can find the posts here and here. Admittedly, I haven’t had much time to devote to this project as of late, although I did get the motor conversion bench tested without issue (120V VFD for converting single phase input to three phase output), which I’ll be posting about shortly. I’ve already torn the entire jointer apart, with only a bit more cleaning to do. As MrUnix suggested, ScotchBrite pads and some type of solvent worked wonders for removing rust from the tables. I ended up using RustFree as the solvent because I already had some on-hand, but I’m sure there are plenty of options out there. Hopefully we can bounce some ideas/tips off one another throughout the process. Best of luck to you!
