Posted on Where can I buy 1/4 inch exotics or anyone know of a place that can resaw larger planks?

That is the challenge with exotics – -they are pricey to begin with, and there is a lot of loss as sawdust cutting pieces and resurfacing to 1/4 inch.

Even for domestic stuff – -1/4 is double the cost per BF as 4/4

If you have access to a tablesaw, and the pieces are not too tall – you can resaw on the tablesaw and split 4/4 down the middle and plane it to 3/8 or 1/4
More loss than with the bandsaw, and more limited in height, but doable.
