Rrrandy, I have done them a few times. Be sure to lathe out a good groove that the wire can snap into rather than lay in. I use a glue roller tool to smash it in otherwise you have to glue it and it never stays in place. There are some colored wires out there that come as a kit, many interesting colors, but be sure you’ve sanded and finished before the wire goes in, sanding will scar it up. If the groove is tight enough you probably won’t feel the need to glue it but you should, just a dab or two in various places.
