Huh, well – I would drill them out. I suspect you can drill with care, and remove just enough to be able to access the screws without risking damage to the screw heads. If the first one fails badly, then I would have to stop and think of what to try next.

I’d start with a very small drill, and then advance to larger ones, incrementally, until the plug comes loose.
