One last thought… how is it that so many woodworkers are able to get by with 6” or 8” jointers? Does everyone just forego jointing when a project calls for 10” or 12” boards (such as a large table top)? Do they opt to do hand jointing? I’m just curious because since I learned how essential a jointer is to making your material square, the idea of a 6” just puzzles me.
