I have a tenon saw that used to be a miter saw. You have to retooth it anyway so, if it’s too long to suit you, cut it shorter. Too deep a cut? Cut the width down before you retooth. Look at it as an oversized backsaw blank you can do with as you please ;-p

FWIW, I don’t use mine that often, but when you need a large back saw filed rip, it’s handy to have.

Another option is to leave it filed crosscut and make a wooden miter box for it.
