This is a fact of woodworking. Add to this:

When under the gun to get a project finished, a tool/bit/blade needed to complete the job breaks.

Lean a just completed board against the wall making sure it is secure and won’t move and somehow it will fall over (maybe a spider or mouse pushed it).

When spraying the final coat of finish on a beautiful piece, the sprayer clogs and then spits out a big goober that lands in your finish.
