Hey Jarrett. Shipping on this thing will be a bear I bet! At least them west-coasters know where to come to get the good stuff ;-)

I think the sliding dovetail will do a nice job a marrying the rustic and industrial elements together on this one as well as being effective at the intended purposes of allowing for movement in the top. I’m not sure if you intend to run the dovetail the full width of the top or just the width of the base but, I think I’d run it the full width of the top. I think the look of the large, exposed dovetail will be a nice feature but I also think it may be needed to support the overhang of the top to prevent sagging over time.
