Rich, I have the same problems in both thumbs and Tylenol helps but I don’t like to take anything so I tough it out. I have dropped a thing or two because of it but nothing of value, thank God.
It does make it hard to hold a bowl gouge for long periods of time so I stick to smaller things on the lathe now.
And they calls these the golden years—more like the manure years…

But being on here is real exercise for my hands and I feel better mentally and physically after an hour or 2 on Lumberjocks!!
