I m pretty new to hardwoods, but to me, it is definitely jatoba. I have a board of jatoba under my couch that looks identical to the second picture. Would anyone use it as a decorative wood for stuff like scroll saw projects considering is it commonly used for flooring?

I used Jatoba and English Oak in my Folding Prie Dieu. The top, shelf, tusk, butter-flys, and stretcher are made of Jatoba.
