Thanks for the response guys. I haven’t been on ebay for so long that I couldn’t even recover my profile, so fixing that was the first step. Concurrently, I worked on following up your leads. I have a question in to nhplaneparts and I hope to have a solution, soon.

The previous owner of my 80 replaced the blade adjusting screw with another screw like the ones used for the blade clamp.

Here you can see the difference that should exist between the screws.

The problem is the shoulder on the screw that I have prevents it from protruding through the base and pushing against the blade properly. Oops, no blade adjustment!

At about $20 per screw (delivered to Canada), I want to be very certain that I’m ordering the correct part; I don’t want a $200 scraper plane ;-)

-- If I knew then what I know now, I'd have made a completely different set of mistakes.
