I actually have the miter channel sitting in the shop, but haven’t gotten around to (or needed) it yet.

Two reasons for the platform. One, I have a bad back and hunching over while working aggravates it very quickly, so I like having all my work surfaces around 38”. Second, it lets me use a pallet jack to easily move machines.
