Put a new blade in.
If it still smokes with the new blade, there’s trouble, though I would not know what. The idea is to narrow it down till you find the issue. Take the belt off and run the motor w/o any load. Inspect the belts for signs of slippage. Slipping belts may not necessary smell like a burnout in the street. Cut different types of wood. Get out the flashlight and look for anything that might be rubbing against any moving parts. A kid may have shoved a toy in there before you got the machine. Take away whatever it is smoking and tell it, “That’s it! No more smokes for you!”.

Search your area for blade sharpening services and get quotes. Then decide for yourself whether it is worth it.
