I rinse with water, a lot of water. Then shake it dry followed by a thorough dowsing with WD-40. The WD 40 displaces any existing water (water displacer is what WD stands for) . After the good spraying with WD40 I usually let it sit for a couple of minutes (to make sure the water if fully displaced, then wipe it with a rag or paper towel to get the excess off.
