Interesting.
First up – that web page is actually showing slightly less information copied from your original post than does a google (or bing) search if you search for “Whatizzzit”. So in some ways you could view it as just a site indexer.
Second up – a single place that presents headline information from all (or make that a lot) of woodworking web sites might have been a good idea – what a shame the presentation on that site is, how do I put it, truly, mindnumbingly awful.
Third up – I have to take slight issue with ”Unlike legitimate search engines, that website posts selected articles from various sources, like they’re hand picked instead of randomly by relevance.”. I think the days of search engines showing you results by actual relevance is long long gone – the search engines are smart, know about you, and have their own way of determining “relevance”, paying them money can make your web site more “relevant” than someone else’s.
Wasn’t there something a while back where google (I think it was google) was digesting the lead stories from newspapers? The newspapers complained. Don’t recall exactly what happened about that, but I think it was deemed “ok” – just like you’re allowed to quote a certain limited amount from a book without permission.
