Get a set like this one from Rockler:

Make sure the bit is clean by removing any pitch build up. You can clean them with saw blade cleaner or regular oven cleaner. Then home the flat surface of the cutters, as Gary stated.

If they get really dull, you may want to consider bringing them to a sharpening service. I haven’t had any of my bits get to that point yet. If you hone them before (and/or after) each use, you should be able to go a very long time between actual sharpenings.
