I’ve got quite a few Forstners from China, and the first step is to sharpen them. If you want to avoid that get your bits from Lee Valley they cost a lot more however. The sizes I use a lot I get from Lee Valley and others that use occasionally, I go the made in China route and figure on sharpening them out of the box.
