It has made a difference to me. My old 6” dovetail way jointer needed periodic adjustments to stay coplanar. When it would sag, it would start cutting tapers again. Some adjustments need to be made by adding brass shims.

Now I use an 8” parallelogram jointer, and it stays dead coplanar despite heavy use. Adjustments are made by turning cams at each corner of the infeed and outfeed tables.

Size is the biggest factor. Any 8” jointer is better than a 6” jointer. Bed construction is a close second for me.
