I don’t keep any tools in their cases. I keep the cases and store them outside of the workshop. Sometimes I will use a case to take a tool to a job site. However, normally I am only keeping the case for the unlikely event that I may sell the tool someday.

Many years ago there was a case for a camera called an EverReady case. For me a case for a workshop tool is a NeverReady case.
