Frank, I’ve never gone wrong with anything they’ve suggested. If I ever make a pine project, I’m definitely going to try that pumpkin pine finish. I also love the fact that the tools they end up recommending as a best or better choice are rarely the most expensive ones. On the other hand, some of Chris’ reviews in his blog (the $2500 set of moulding planes, for example) could put a woodworker in trouble with the wife if he were to buy without taking it to the budgeting committee first. Jeff, I got the Workbench book, too, though mine was autographed by Chris and one of his daughters drew a smiley face in it.
