Hey Jeff,

I used Norton for a while, but I switched entirely to Shapton. They are simply better stoners IMHO. They sharpen quicker and stay flatter, and they have a good set of accessories – their lapping plate works well. I have a bunch of Japanese chisels and planes, and I really like the Shapton stones. The set you describe is great – might want to add an 8000 in there – going from the 5000 to the 15000 is quite a leap. I get great polish with my 8000. I reserve the 15000 for when I want to impress people! :-)

Hope this helps
