seal a cell will do fine for small items that are not used hard, the resins in Arm r seal are much stronger.. if I were going to do anything other than you have listed above which is an excellent finish , I would simply thin the arm r seal a little with mineral spirits ( for penetration),as a first coat and not use the seal a cell , however seal a cell has a nice amber tint to it and provides a warm base for the more clearer Arm r seal, The Arm R Seal just makes for a much more durable finish
