Today I learned about the Mesquite borer. I have these mesquite wood pieces cut ready to go into shoehorns and this one has had yellow dust coming out for days now

I looked it up and it is called a longhorn beetle, a powderpost beetle and officially is a mesquite borer:

I have cut into the larvae when turning and gotten a squirt. I’ll have to look to see if I can dig this one out before I turn it. Get him in a photo shoot!!
