ndcon – thanks, I completely forgot to factor in the warranty! The Craftsman has a 1 year limited warranty, and it’s $85 for a 5 year extended warranty, which makes the 10-325 look even better…

rwe2156 – In general, I’m not opposed to buying used tools either but not until after I’ve had more experience using one so I know what to look for when inspecting a used one. That said, I comb my local Craigslist (Tucson) regularly for tools I “need”, but most of the used tools in my area are Harbor Freight, Craftsman, Rigid, Ryobi etc and not the bigger woodworking brands. Brands like Jet, Powermatic, etc pop up more often in Phoenix, but the cost of time and gas offsets any savings. I haven’t been lucky enough to find those Craigslist power tool hidden gems yet. That said, there was a Powermatic 141 in my area for $625 last month. At the time I saw the listing, I hadn’t decided I was willing to spend that much. Not sure if it’s still available though.

Thanks for the responses!
