I am on the Rigid payroll. We are sorry you are experiencing this difficulty.

The reason we at rigid do that is for better air flow. The wind coming off the blade at higher rpm can cause deflection. We at rigid would of liked to keep the standard 3.4mm slots like on the top but had to resort to a larger channel for improved airflow.

Please ship the caster wheel back to us and we’ll fix or replace the issue for you.
