If it s his property, get it in writing if he s renting get the owner to sign off 1st. Also know most framing crews and or self props aren t insured for tree cutting, be careful.

I had a cust 12 15 yrs or more back, I sidewalled one of his rentals, the property had a gorgeous 20 foot Japanese filigree maple beside the house. It was there Fri when I left, It was gone Mon when I came back. I called him ASAP, oh yeah I had some guy come over Sat to cut it down, it was blocking early morning sun. I nearly lost it, I asked him if he had any idea how much that tree was worth. The local nursery sold 3 to 4 footers for $100 – $130.00. A 10 footer at a garden show had a tag on it $6000.00 A local landscaper valued a mature 20 maple at $1000.00 per foot retail, said he d have paid $14000.00 for it and made a killing reselling it.

He is having a tree service drop them.
Even with something in writing I would be too chicken to cut down a tree on a strangers property.
I am just hauling some off for “firewood”.
