Project Information
5 years ago I made a garden bench and table for our little 3 year old daughter.
As time passed by, we increased our offspring number to 3, and she grew to be a 8 year old big girl, that dont fancy the baby sized bench.
...and so, the need for more seats was born.
I had a few requirements:
1.) Had to be light enough for the kids to lug around the garden, without help
2.) Had to be sturdy enough for 3 kids fighting on top of it
3.) Had to look better than the cheap ones you buy for kids.
4.) Had to make me practice joinery.
I feel like I attained my goals. Double dadoes, on all connections of the frame, supported with glue and a screw.
I might make a second bench (or chair) later.
It was originally some leftover floor boards, that I ripped, cut, routed and sanded to what you see on the pictures. So the project was free. I really need to get a planer/joiner soon though. (Friday wink)
Can you tell, who wanted to sit in the middle for the first picture?
Charming little bandit, eh?
Enjoy
