This was made as a birthday gift for a friend. He requested the measurements, and I put it together. The base is a simple block with a dado cut at about 30 degrees. The reason I used the block as a base was that I was pressed for time, and could not find a small hinge in my garage. The finish is 3 coats of shellac, once dried, sanded with fine steel wool, and then 1k grit sandpaper. The materials are simply walnut, maple, and some glue. This is the first of two, as my better half liked it, so I’ve already stated on another one.
