Last year during my son’s afternoon nap, I needed something to do, so I made this from Cedar kinda on a whim. The plan was to leave it unfinished however, after only one winter, it showed some serious weathering, plus it was originally too big and was bowing out the plexiglass. So a couple of weeks ago, I took it all apart, trimmed it down, sanded it, and applied a couple coats of a stain/poly blend, and reassembled it. One side of the roof is hinged for easy refilling/cleaning. As you can see by the poop on the roof and the seed dust on the tray, the birds love it. It’s sized so that I can add suet-cake holders on each side. Nothing fancy, but just thought I’d share.

Fancy doesn’t make a project better. I love it and tomorrow while my grandson is at school I’ll dig threw my “unfancy” scrap pile and get one ready to build when he gets home. Thanks for sharing.
