Project Information

Last year my step-daughter and son-in-law went to the Masters Tournament in Atlanta. They had a great time and brought home some souvenirs and I agreed to make a shadow box for those. Well, I don't know if this ever happens to other people but somehow that project got pushed to the back burner for about a year. They were all set to go again this year when my son-in-law got called in to solve a crisis at work and ultimately they won't be able to attend. So my step daughter and I finished the project last weekend so they can at least display last year's trinkets proudly in their home. There are some pins, ball markers, a hat signed by the tournament champion (who is also sponsored by my step-daughter's accounting firm and it is on one of their hats), and an admission ticket from the day. They also have a couple of flags that need to be framed. Maybe I will get to that this weekend.

The box is made of walnut and finished with a spray on semi-gloss finish, the inside back wall is flocked with green suede. I considered hinging a door but decided, for a variety or reasons) to just have the Plexiglas slide in from the top (cheaper, easier). It can be hung on the wall (cable is in place to hang it) but for now it is perched on their mantle.
