I needed a break from hand planing the wood for my Roubo Bench, so I knocked out these two Roubo Squares this afternoon. Both are made of Red Oak for the handles, Maple for the blades and Oak Pegs.
I used the band saw to rip the handles and blades to width and to cut the kerfs for the blades. Then I used a chisel to mallet out the waste btwn the kerf lines to make room for the blades. The blades were roughed out on the bandsaw and refined using rasps.
One is for me and the other one is a gift for a friend.

Nice work, I have one just like your. A fellow Lumberjock made me one as a gift… I use it all the time. Enjoy!

Ken, thanks.
I remember your square very well, as I was the one who made it for you :0)
I left LJs for a few years and came back under a new name.
Glad to hear you are still enjoying your square!
Take care.

Have your say...
