Project Information

My wife wanted a little table to put next to the rocking chair she uses when she reads to our son. I had a big slab of mango from when I lived in Hawaii that I used for the top. It started out about 6/4 but it was so warped that by the time I planed it down with the router it was 5/8" thick. I welded the base from 1" square steel tube, brushed it clean, then lacquered the whole thing.

The butterflies in the top are more for decoration than any structural purpose. Just practicing.

Nice work cool idea with the metal legs. I see the powder posts did their bit to give the slab some extra character. What island were you on?
